A Note from Cintilli's Momma:

On March 4th of last year, my sweet Mommy and I began working on an idea that was born from late night giggle loops. At that point, Cintilli and been staying with her since the middle of February, as I had noticed a decline in her health and had been worried about her. At that same time, I was also volunteering in the area by baking and distributing food for the flood victims and soldiers who were assisting with the crisis. During one of our late-night giggle loop baking sessions, I was telling her about the infamous banana “art” known as “The Comedian” that had sold to Justin Sun for $6.2 million. She decided that if a banana taped to the wall sold for that much, then my banana nut bread (her mother’s recipe) should be priceless! That’s when the gears began to turn and we hatched an idea to challenge Justin Sun (and other wealthy philanthropists) to purchase our parody version. In full Carol Burnett style, we decided to tape a loaf of banana nut bread to the wall, aluminum foil and all! We decided that we needed that extra comedic element and, of course, had to look no further, as Cintilli, the charismatic tuxedo cat we had rescued from the local shelter, was the perfect candidate! We both (or rather, all three) agreed upon St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the recipient of the “purchase.”

Sadly, my sweet Mommy and I were never able to complete this project. Her health continued to decline, and she eventually received the diagnosis that no one wanted to hear: cancer. It was a very aggressive form that had already metastasized. From that point on, all focus was upon her health. She bravely took on that disease without ever showing fear, for she knew that all was well with her soul. Her last words upon this Earth were prayers for the people who dwelled within it and sharing her love. She was the most amazing woman I have ever known and to be called her daughter is the greatest honor that I will ever receive. She departed this life on Christmas morning, and I have not nor will ever be the same since. One of the most important parts of my healing journey is to make sure that my Mommy continues to live through her legacy of not only her love and generosity, but also of her wonderfully witty ways. She was and will always be my best friend and the Keeper of my Heart. For this reason, I have chosen to see our last project through until the end. In honor of my Mommy and to complete the parody of the original artwork, I have named Cintilli's banana nut bread "art"  "The Comedienne.”
